How to use the ATS Score Checker

  1. 1
    Paste your resume text

Copy the raw text from your resume (Ctrl+A on the PDF, or paste from Word). No formatting needed โ€” the tool re-parses it anyway.

  2. 2
    Paste the job description

Copy the full JD from the job posting. The tool extracts required + preferred keywords automatically.

  3. 3
    Review the score + gaps

You get a percentage match, a list of missing keywords, and specific rewrite suggestions. Anything above 70% is competitive for most ATSes.

Who is the ATS Score Checker for?

You've applied to 30+ roles and gotten zero interviews โ€” the resume itself may be the block
You're tailoring a resume for a specific dream job and want to maximize ATS match
You suspect your resume has the right content but wrong keywords
You're a recruiter comparing multiple resumes for shortlist speed
You want to A/B test two resume versions objectively
You're returning to work after a break and want to validate your first draft

Real examples of what people build

  • "Was at 43% match on a Google PM role. Reworked using the missing-keyword list, got to 82%. Got the phone screen a week later." โ€” anonymous
  • "HR at my mid-size startup uses this pre-review to filter out obvious mismatches. Saves us 2-3 hours a week." โ€” in-house recruiter, Mumbai
  • "Discovered my resume said \"managed projects\" but the JD said \"project management\" โ€” keyword form mismatch was tanking my score." โ€” PMP-certified applicant

Frequently asked questions

Is a 70% match good?
Yes. Most ATS-based first-pass filters use thresholds around 60-70%. Anything above 75% puts you in the top 10-15% of applicants for that role. Above 85% is exceptional but not usually necessary.
Do ATSes really reject resumes automatically?
Not exactly. Most ATSes rank rather than reject โ€” recruiters see the ranked list and typically only review the top 25-40 candidates. So a low ATS score usually means invisible, not rejected.
Should I stuff keywords to get a higher score?
No. Modern ATSes (especially Workday and Greenhouse) use context, not just density. Stuffing keywords hurts you because human recruiters see the resume next โ€” and stuffing is a giveaway. Use keywords naturally.
Does this work for non-English resumes?
It works for English resumes only right now. If you're applying for a role that accepts a non-English resume, that job typically doesn't use an ATS in the first place.
